How to export your Letterboxd data and upload it here
Request an export at letterboxd.com/settings/data— Letterboxd emails you a ZIP when it’s ready. Upload that ZIP on the dashboard. Our uploader expects a ZIP that includes
ratings.csv in the ZIP root.Step 1: Request your export from Letterboxd

Step 2: Download the ZIP from the email
- Download the export ZIP to your computer.
- Don’t rename files inside it. You can keep the ZIP as-is.

- Wait for processing to finish—your personality dashboard will appear when we’re done matching your ratings.
Common issues (quick fixes)
- “Please upload a .zip file containing ratings.csv.” You likely uploaded the wrong file. Upload the Letterboxd export ZIP (or re-zip so that
ratings.csvsits at the ZIP root, not inside a nested folder). - I only have “watched” but no ratings. This app is built around ratings. If your export has a
watched.csvwe can still show watched-but-unrated counts, but the dashboard needsratings.csvfor the main analysis. - My match rate seems low. That’s normal for some films (alternate titles, shorts, TV, etc.). We match against TMDB; rerunning later can improve results if metadata changes.
